The 18-story Nine Hollywood is under construction at 1809 Jackson St.

The Nine Hollywood apartment complex broke ground thanks to a $43 million construction loan.

New York-based CF-IF-2020-1 LLC awarded the mortgage to Jackson Street Development LLC, managed by Giuseppe Iadisernia in Hallandale Beach. It covers the 35,941-square-foot site at 1809 Jackson St., at the northwest corner of Federal Highway, a block south of Young Circle.

Hallandale Beach-based MGM Construction Group recently filed notice with the county that it started building the project. Rising 18 stories, Nine Hollywood will have 226 apartments and 7,315 square feet of retail.

This will add to the building boom in downtown Hollywood. After the city changed the zoning to permit more density and mixed-use development, many projects have started in the city, bringing new residents and businesses. Much of the development is centered on Young Circle and its ArtsPark.

Iadisernia is also the developer of the Oasis Hallandale mixed-use project.
